Woolworths is expanding its two-hour grocery delivery service beyond Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, as more consumers call for speedy delivery options.
Gold Coast shoppers can now access Woolworths Delivery Now through its supermarkets in Broadbeach, Southport Park and Harbourtown.
Woolworths reported that the express delivery service is becoming increasingly popular with consumers, with demand growing each week.
The service, which is now available to more than 4.5 million consumers, is averaging a delivery time of 62 minutes.
“Our customers lead increasingly busy lives and want us to offer more convenient ways to shop than ever before,” Woolworths director of e-commerce Annette Karantoni said on Friday.
“It’s ideal for top up shops of everyday essentials, or more urgent needs like nappies, cold and flu medicine, or snacks for catering at short notice.”
All Delivery Now orders are handpicked in-store by a Woolworths personal shopper and delivered to customers by third-party delivery partners.
Shoppers can track the orders on their smartphones from the commencement of the in-store picking process via a live map.
