Meluka Australia supports bushfire recovery with launch of honey product

Communities in rural Australia that were affected by the bushfire will receive help and funding from an initiative by Meluka Australia.

The Eve Investments brand is launching its limited edition black label Rescue Tea Tree Honey with all sale proceeds to be donated to Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal and Vinnies.

The bushfires devastated the Bungawalbin region in Northern New South Wales where Meluka’s farm is located but the tea tree plantation and farm infrastructure were spared.

“The recent bushfires have been a catastrophic event for rural Australia, and sadly a lot of Australians have been impacted by the devastation,” Meluka Australia CEO Ben Rohr said.

“We feel its incredibly important to come together to support each other through difficult times like these and wanted to underline our commitment to helping those in need. We are pleased to be working closely with both Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal as well as Vinnies to support those who have been so tragically devastated by this deeply upsetting series of bushfires over Summer.”

The brand’s premium tea tree honey product contains native wildflower honey and certified organic tea tree extract which is known for healing properties on burns, cuts and abrasions. Meluka donated 27kg of its Native Wildflower honey infused with tea tree extract to the Sydney Wildlife Hospital, for the recovery of injured wildlife.

“Meluka Australia has donated medicinal tea tree honey to the Sydney Wildlife Hospital, to provide anti-bacterial protection and make sure we can provide all the help we can when it comes to overseeing the faster recovery of our beloved wildlife.”
