VanDeRo has collaborated with OzHarvest to launch a social initiative, committing to feed hungry Australians.

Called 1 Jar = 1 Meal, for every VanDeRo’s mustard jar sold, the company will contribute one meal to feed Australians in need, with support from OzHarvest.

“We wanted to empower people,” said Callie van der Merwe, co-founder of VanDeRo. “We wanted to allow everyday people to easily make a difference, and encourage other companies and organisations to do the same.”

Prior to VanDeRo, other companies have launched similar programs, including as Zambrero with Rise Against Hunger and Plate 4 Plate donating meals to those who need them most.

“It’s not a promotion, it’s not a ‘special’, it’s a company ethos,” the company said in a statement. “We are driven by a collective purpose to add a voice to all companies and businesses that strive to give back and lift the communities upon which they built their foundations.”
