Food business Urban Foodies has launched chef-prepared meals delivered to Australian homes, including ‘Everyday Favourites’ and DIY Meal Kits.

“We wanted to create a new offering that allowed people to spend more time with their loved ones and less time in the kitchen,” said Georgie and Ben Vile, founders of Urban Foodies. “Although we love to cook, lockdown did leave us feeling some cooking fatigue and we found the same with take-away too.”

Everyday Favourites are ready-to-heat dishes sold for $9 per meal. It includes dishes such as beef bourguignon, vegetable tagine, beef lasagne, healthy chicken curry, gourmet family pies and ancient grain salad.

The meal kits have pre-packed ingredients.

“We offer affordable, chef-prepared meals, made with the freshest ingredients for everyday and special nights in. Our chefs have done all the hard work so our customers don’t have to,” said Georgie.

Urban Foodies’ DIY Meal Kits include recipes and ingredients in a box for easy cooking. The company has rolled out dishes such as a DIY beef bao kit, pork belly ramen kit and southern fried chicken burger kit.

The company also created Finish At Home Roasts including trimmings, seasonings and desserts, and Middle Eastern feasts. For the sweet-toothed, the range includes cakes made by the company’s in-house pastry chef.
