KitKat has introduced Australia’s first Facebook-live shopping experience called ‘Live from the Kitkat Chocolatory’.
The new shopping feature allows livestream viewers to make direct purchases by typing prescribed #keywords in the livestream comment box, automatically triggering a notification within Messenger to direct users to purchase online.
Live from the Kitkat Chocolatory was hosted by Connie Yuen, head chocolatier, at its flagship boutique in Sydney. The experience showcased chocolate creations, product demos, special guests and limited-time offers.
Head of marketing confectionery of Nestle, Joyce Tan, said the first-ever shoppable live stream is one of many e-commerce solutions the company has been working with Facebook on which align with platform behaviour and build useful customer experiences.
“The fact that KitKat Chocolatory has multiple touchpoints with physical boutique locations in Melbourne and Sydney and a strong direct-to-consumer presence with kitkat.com.au, coupled with a breadth of exclusive, bespoke and new flavours, makes KitKat the ideal partner to bring the joy of Christmas gifting through mobile,” said Dan Sinfield, industry head CPG at Facebook.
