Idle Hour Vodka team launches RTD tequila soda

The makers of vodka brand Idle Hour have launched a new ready-to-drink tequila soda across Australia.

Dubbed Delgados, the RTD “draws inspiration from the jet-set era of Acapulco” according to the company, and features authentic tequila from Jalisco, Mexico. It is blended with soda water and real fruit juice and comes in three flavours: Lime and Basil, Grapefruit and Jalapeno, and Pineapple and Ginger.

Idle Hour co-founder and director, Ewen Pettit said the drink is built as the “ultimate escape”.

“We know drinkers are seeking out higher quality ingredients in RTD and with tequila going from strength to strength, Delgados felt like a logical step.”

Vaughan Thomson, sales and marketing director of Craft Revolution, said Delgados is uniquely positioned to tap into the biggest trends in alcohol namely hard seltzer, canned cocktails and tequila.

Each 300ml can carry 5.5 per cent ABV, 1g carbs, 100 calories and is made with natural ingredients, without sugar. A four-pack retails for $34 and is stocked in wholesalers and online.
