V2Food launches plant-based prepared meals

Plant-based food producer V2Food is adding ready-made meals to its existing range at Woolworths stores across the nation.

The range features four options: Spaghetti Bolognese, Lasagne, Penne Bake and Chilli Con Carne. This is the fourth plant-based innovation of the company after the successful launch of its plant-based alt-meat products including sausages, chicken and mince.

V2Food says Aussies consumers’ demand for convenient meals started rising during the pandemic and this has led to a big change in the market. The company saw an opportunity to develop a plant-based alternative solution.

Nick Hazell, CEO and founder of V2Food said the new range will offer an easy and tasty meal for people who aren’t confident in preparing or cooking plant-based meats.

“We are not asking every Aussie to become vegan. Instead, we’re encouraging them to switch to more plant-based meals. However, we understand there are barriers, with people hesitant to do so because of not knowing how to prepare or cook plant-based meats,” he said.

“The launch of ready-made meals, which are already loved family dishes, give us an opportunity to cut through this uncertainty and make it easier than ever for people to give it a go. With the same great taste as the meat equivalents, Aussies can enjoy their favourite meals, while doing good for the planet.”

V2Food ready-made meals are available nationwide with an RRP of $9 for a 350g pack.

In addition, the plant-based brand has announced an expansion in China under a partnership with Shanghai Lawson.
