World-first nut ‘milk’ concentrate launched through Woolworths

Sydney-based plant-milk brand Ulu Hye will roll out its mini Mylk Base jars across select Woolworths stores nationally.

Each 120ml jar can make 3 litres of plant-based milk by simply adding water to the concentrate. The range comes in three flavours: Almond, Hazelnut and Nut which is a blend of cashew, almond and macadamia.

Childhood best friends Heidi Peuten and Vasia Vogias created the brand in late 2017, after learning that the majority of milk cartons end up in landfills.

The pair says they’ve prevented 800,000 UHT cartons from ending up in landfills while also offering a sustainable high-quality, gluten-free, sugar-free, soy-free alternative to current options in the market.

Co-founder, Heidi Peuten said: “Being able to help fight this war on waste through major distribution makes our mission even more possible.

“Our Mylk Bases allow you to make what you need when you need it. It’s proof you can be kind to your body, bank and the environment all at the same time,” said co-founder, Vasia Vogias.

The jars retail for $11.99 each and can also be purchased online and at various health food stores across Australia.
