Meal-delivery service Youfoodz is set to converge three existing production sites into one custom-built 13,700sqm facility in Berrinda, Queensland.
The new site will feature a two-level office structure, a full menu development kitchen, and a photography studio, complemented by a meeting and training space. It will also include food chillers and processing equipment built into the facility design.
Youfoodz founder & CEO, Lance Giles said the new facility is a ‘milestone’ for the company.
“The new site is the size of 33 basketball courts and will enable Youfoodz to produce more than 75 million meals per year and also more than 30 million healthy drinks and snacks.”
The company wants to ramp up its production capacity to cook 550 tonnes of produce per week, thereby helping local farmers who contribute nearly 90 per cent of all ingredients.
Tom Rutledge, CEO of HelloFresh Australia and New Zealand said: “Youfoodz’ product and capabilities backed by a well-known brand and highly capable team will allow us to serve more meals to people.”
The construction of the facility is expected to be completed by October.
