Coles and Yumi’s launch new chocolate hommus

Dips manufacturer Yumi’s has partnered with Coles to launch a new Chocolate and Hazelnut variety of hommus dip across 700 supermarkets nationwide.

Susan Booker, head of product innovation at Yumi’s, said the new offering is a “versatile” dip that can be used as a spread or a mousse – she isn’t advocating it as a dip for kebabs.

The new dip is made from Australian-grown hommus and is rich in fibre content. The brand says taste testers used it as a “healthier filling” for sponge cakes, “as a lower sugar, lower fat and lower saturated fat option than many other chocolate and hazelnut spreads”.

“Yumi’s reputation is built on authentic, tried-and-tested family recipes. Our chocolate and hazelnut hommus variety is quite a departure for us, but we’re confident that our customers will love it.”

As of 2020, the global hommus market was worth $3.75 billion, according to Fortune Business Insights.
