Kombucha brand Remedy Drinks has opened a $25 million fermentary in Melbourne’s Dandenong South, the largest in the southern hemisphere.
Spanning 18,268sqm, the fermentary allows the company to consolidate production “under one roof” and streamline its supply chain without compromising on quality.
Chris Gillard, Remedy’s MD, said the new facility will aid in research and development and creating new kombucha products.
“We’re leading the way in making the best tasting, healthiest drinks going around, and the new Remedy fermentary will allow us to deliver on the significant increases in demand forecast for the coming years as more and more consumers look to reduce their sugar intake and seek out healthier options.”
The opening of the new facility coincides with the company’s 10th birthday celebrations. As a result, the brand has released a special Birthday Cake limited-batch kombucha, made from a traditional kombucha base complemented by hibiscus tea, natural vanilla extract, strawberry, caramel, lemon, blueberry and cinnamon.
The brand is also expanding into the US, the UK, Canada and Asia.
