Seven Miles Coffee names Phil Restall as CEO

Phil Restall has been named the new CEO of Seven Miles Coffee after Jenny Willits’s announcement that she would step down by the end of this month.

Restall served as MD of Global Travel Retail at Beam Suntory, where he was credited with leading the beverage company’s 10-year strategic vision, and its path to recovery after the pandemic.

“I am truly honoured to be following in Jenny’s footsteps and the opportunity to continue to build upon the legacy she’s created in partnership with her amazing team,” said Restall.

“I’ve always loved coffee, so I couldn’t be prouder to lead this business during its next and most important phase.”

Willits has served as CEO of the coffee company since 2017 and of its umbrella organisation, 7MCC, since May. She will stay as a consultant until January to aid the leadership transition.

Liverpool Partners, which acquired a stake in the company last year, credited Willits with successfully implementing new capabilities and leading the roaster’s growth and acquisition strategy.

“I have been so proud to be the leader of this incredible business, to be a part of establishing a very special and unique culture, driven by its incredible, kind, and courageous people – they are simply the best,” said Willits.

“It’s most certainly exciting times for the business, and I look forward to watching all the future success.”

7MCC is the parent company of Seven Miles Coffee Roasters, Padre Coffee, Australian Beverage Corporation, Coffeesmith and Coffee Next brands.
