Australian boutique coffee maker, Hunt and Brew, has launched a single-origin cocoa drink with no added sugar.

The brand has taken a step outside its core coffee range as it seeks to offer consumers an option for a caffeine-free drink.

“We are seeing consumer tastes evolving, with young people, in particular, seeking alternatives that are better for you with lower sugar,” said Emily Creer, brand manager of Hunt and Brew.

“We know experience is important, and people aren’t willing to compromise on taste or quality,” she continued. “Consumers will pay that little bit more for consistent, high-quality beverages and the convenience of the ready-to-drink space,” she added.

The new drink’s bottles feature a Boa Snake design, an animal native to the Santo Domingo region of the Dominican Republic, where the cocoa is sourced from.

Creer explained that each animal on the pack reflects the local hunter of the region, with Kerby Rosanes as the illustrator that brings life to their “unique predatory nature”.

The new beverage is also packaged in 100 per cent recycled plastic bottles

“We know our consumers are concerned about single-use plastics, and we are doing what we can to contribute to a circular economy,” added Creer.

The new Hunt and Brew Cocoa range is available in Coles supermarkets and select convenience and independent stores nationwide.
