The CEO of New Zealand fishing company Sanford Peter Reidie has announced his resignation with immediate effect after two years in the role.
Craig Ellison, a board member at the company has been appointed as the interim CEO.
The chairman of Sanford, Sir Rob McLeod thanked Reidie for his leadership during a period of “extremely challenging” local and international business conditions.
“Peter has successfully led our company through these challenges and out the other side. He has become a good friend of mine and I’ve enjoyed working with him. I wish him all the best for the future.”
Of his resignation, Reidie said he is “proud” to have led New Zealand’s oldest seafood company and to have returned the company to growth and improved performance.
“The company is well advanced on its post-Covid recovery and significant structural and leadership changes have been made.
“For me, after I’ve finished some important projects at Sanford, it’s time to move on and focus on family, personal and other commitments.”
Reidie will remain with Sanford on a contract basis to assist with the handover to Ellison.
