Reg Weine has been named specialty infant formula manufacturer Bubs Australia’s new CEO and MD, effective immediately.
Weine was previously a non-executive director and board member of the company and replaces interim CEO Richard Paine – who stepped in after founder and former CEO Kristy Carr was ousted in May.
Weine has more than 25 years of experience in the FMCG and agri-food industry along with 15 years of experience in international markets and trade. He was the former MD of SPC Ardmona (Coca-Cola Amatil), CEO of Bulla Dairy Foods and the director of sales and international at Blackmores.
Bubs chair Katrina Rathie welcomed Weine and said: “With his strong commercial, FMCG, dairy and international markets expertise, he is the right leader to drive Bubs’ strategy forward in Australia, USA, China, and international markets”.
Of his appointment, Weine acknowledged the challenges facing Bubs in the short to medium term, but said the business has significant potential.
“As the architect of the recent strategic review of the business, I will be pursuing the 5-point plan to arrest the decline in shareholder value and get Bubs back on its feet,” Weine said.
Meanwhile, interim CEO Richard Paine will resume his role as chief operating officer.
