The International Fresh Produce Association ANZ (IFPA ANZ) has named Dean Gall, COO of Premier Fresh Australia, as its new chairman.
He succeeds Richard Bylaardt and will also represent the region on the IFPA global board, with his position set to be formalised later this year. His term in both roles will run for three years.
Gall brings more than 20 years of experience in the fresh produce sector, having held various executive roles at Premier Fresh Australia. A director of the IFPA ANZ board since 2022, he most recently served as treasurer.
Commenting on his appointment, Gall acknowledged key industry challenges, including rising costs, labour shortages, regulatory shifts, and the need to boost fresh produce consumption.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s focus on advocacy, sustainability, supply chain efficiencies, and policy reform as part of its 2023 to 2026 strategy.
“Our greatest asset is our members, experts across the entire supply chain,” Gall added.
“By amplifying their voices and insights, we can help shape policies and solutions that foster growth, resilience, and a strong future for fresh produce and floral industries.”
