Aldi is launching its first ready-made meal range in the US, with seven options across single-serve and family-size formats.
“Our shoppers are looking for meals that fit into busy lives without sacrificing quality or stretching their budgets,” said Joan Kavanaugh, VP of National Buying, Aldi US.
“That’s why we were thoughtful about how we entered this category.”
The range includes meals such as Beef Bolognese Spaghetti, Butter Chicken and Rice, Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, and Beef Brisket with White Mac and Cheese. Family-size options include Chicken and Bacon Mac and Cheese and Meat Lovers Pizza Bake.
“We tested hundreds of recipes as we developed this collection, with quality as our top standard from the very beginning,” said Terry Jackson, head of food at Kitchen Food Company, an Aldi ready-meal supplier.
The meals feature ingredients such as chicken breast, smoked beef brisket and real cheese, alongside sauces made from scratch. Single-serve meals contain 30 to 46 grams of protein, while family-size servings contain 16 to 22 grams.
Aldi single-serve meals are priced less than US$8, while family-size options cost less than $15.
“We want every meal to hit the mark on bold flavour and standout ingredients, so even when time is short, shoppers can still look forward to what’s on the table,” Jackson added.
