Foodstuffs North Island has teamed up with Dunnhumby and The Food Innovation Network to launch a series of workshops aimed at helping up-and-coming grocery suppliers grow their businesses.
Sixteen events will be held across New Zealand between now and August, offering suppliers expert advice and insights to help them secure supermarket distribution.
One workshop next month will be led by emerging supplier manager Rachel Prenty. She will share her experiences in product supply and scaling businesses across more than 300 Pak’n’Save, New World, and Four Square stores.
Prenty emphasised the importance of expert guidance for small businesses in their early stages, noting that it can help prevent costly mistakes.
“For suppliers aiming to get their products onto supermarket shelves, understanding key factors such as supply chain robustness, sustainable operations, supermarket distribution, and consumer preferences is incredibly valuable,” she said.
“These forums also provide a platform for suppliers within the same regions to connect and build a support network. We encourage any supplier, regardless of their stage in business development. to attend a local event.”
