Whisky producer Lark Distilling Co has appointed Stuart Gregor as CEO and MD, effective in January.

Gregor co-founded Four Pillars Gin in 2013, growing it from a small craft operation into a globally celebrated gin brand. He sold the business to Lion (part of Kirin Group) in 2023 and has been a non-executive director of Lark since last year.

According to the whisky maker, the incoming CEO brings over 25 years of experience spanning brand creation, premium drinks marketing and international expansion and entrepreneurial expertise.

Beyond entrepreneurship, Gregor co-founded PR and marketing firm Liquid Ideas and is a former president of the Australian Distillers Association.

“Stuart already has a deep understanding of Lark through his role on our board and has been intimately involved in the re-stage of our brand as we embark on our exciting next chapter,” said Lark’s chairman Domenic Panaccio.

“Today’s announcement reflects our strong focus on effective succession planning, ensuring a smooth and orderly transition that positions Lark for continued success in its next phase of growth,” he added.

Gregor will succeed Satya (Sash) Sharma, who will step down on December 31, following three years leading the company. Sharma will become MD of Apac for Campari Group after his departure.

Founded by Bill and Lyn Lark in 1992, Lark is known for its award-winning Tasmanian whisky, including the signature Single Malt Signature Collection. The company reported a 2.6 per cent rise in revenue to $17.2 million and a loss of $11.3 million in 2024-25.
