Lark’s whisky veteran Chris Thomson will leave the Tasmanian distillery at the end of this year to pursue his long-held ambition of launching his own whisky brand.
Thomson has spent almost two decades with Lark, playing a key role in the business’s growth and the development of its whisky portfolio, while also contributing to the broader Australian whisky industry.
During his tenure, Thomson has held senior responsibilities across the business and become a recognised figure in Australia’s whisky sector.
“His expertise, leadership and passion for the craft have left a lasting impact on our team and our journey,” the company said in a statement.
In August, Lark reported a 15.1 per cent increase in net sales to $18 million for the 12 months ended June 30, with growth across all core channels. Export and global travel retail were the key drivers of the result.
