Argentine footballer Lionel Messi’s Más+ by Messi hydration drink has entered the Australian market following a surge in its popularity in the US. It will be available exclusively at 7-Eleven stores in Australia.
The drink is made with natural sweeteners and flavours, is free of artificial colours and preservatives, and contains six vitamins and four electrolytes.
“With Leo, we’ve achieved something almost unbelievable: A delicious tasting drink that has just 1g of sugar, 10 calories per 500ml bottle, and no artificial sweeteners or colours, that helps people hydrate like a champion every day,” said Ben Gibson, GM at Mark Anthony Brands Australia.
“This is more than just a launch – it’s the start of a new chapter for hydration beverages in Australia.’’
The line features four flavours created with Messi and named after milestones in his life.
The Miami Punch flavour is inspired by the city where Messi currently resides and features a blend of berry flavours with a hint of pineapple.
The Berry Copa Crush, blending blueberries, raspberries, cherries, and acai, was inspired by the many trophies Meddi has earned throughout his career.
Messi’s record eight wins of the Ballon d’Or trophy inspired the Más+ Orange d’Or flavour, which includes flavours of orange and tangerine.
The brand’s Limon Lime League flavour, which balances sweetness with a fruity and zesty taste, was inspired by the footballer’s time spent playing in the UEFA Champions League, which he won four times.
