Visy is opening a packaging hub in Devonport, Tasmania, as the circular economy giant continues its $20 million long-term commitment to the state. Supplying cardboard packaging across Tasmania, the hub will serve farmers, and food and beverage companies.

Opened by the Federal Minister for Agriculture, Julie Collins, the investment has been celebrated as a vote of confidence in Tasmania’s farming industry.

“We’re helping get premium Tasmanian produce, food and drinks to Australian supermarket shelves and take advantage of export markets in the region,” Visy’s CEO Mark De Wit said.

“Tasmania has some of the best produce in the world, and this new site will deliver greater convenience and responsiveness for customers, with improved capacity and dedicated support.”

The new site comprises an 8500sqm warehouse and office space for sales and customer service.
