Dairy company Norco is jumping into non-dairy options with the launch of a plant-based alt-milk range, Mylk.
Two chilled products – Norco P2 Pea Protein Mylk and Oat Mylk – aim to offer more options to consumers who would like to consume non-dairy alt-milk options without compromising on nutrition or taste.
P2 Pea Protein Mylk is a plant-based milk alternative with the same protein (8.3g), calcium and creaminess as full cream dairy milk. It is free from gluten, soy, nuts, and lactose and has a lower sugar content per serving.
Oat Mylk is just as creamy and milky-tasting as P2 Pea Protein but uses oat grains instead of peas.
Ben Menzies, GM of commercial and strategy at Norco, said the company understands that some consumers avoid dairy due to dietary constraints, and over a third of its customers look for milk alternatives.
“With that in mind, our plant-based Mylks offer a point of difference by introducing a fresh product, packed with plant nutrition, while supporting a 100 per cent farmer-owned Australian co-operative,” said Menzies.
“Because no matter how it’s made – or what it’s made from – we want to give Aussie milk lovers the milk they deserve, even when it doesn’t contain a drop of dairy.”
Norco P2 Pea Protein and Oat Mylks are available in one-litre bottles in the dairy fridge at selected Woolworths stores across Queensland, NSW and Victoria with an RRP of $5.50
