Australian dairy manufacturer Pure Dairy has officially opened its 13,000sqm production facility in Dandenong South, Victoria, marking “the largest private investment in the sector in four decades”.
The plant, which marks a 14-year journey for the company, is already producing a range of dairy products for major clients, including Subway, Coles, Guzman y Gomez, and Betty Burgers.
The facility also houses Pure Dairy’s trade, foodservice, and retail divisions, bringing together teams across the supply chain to drive operational efficiency and innovation.
“This new facility has been a vision of mine for nearly a decade,” said Pure Dairy founder and chairman Adrian Josephson.
“In my younger years, I’d be travelling the world, selling Australian cheeses to the largest cheese converters in Europe and the US. Even then, I knew one day I needed to build something like this here in Australia.”
Colin Brooks, Minister for Industry and Advanced Manufacturing, said the investment underscores southeast Melbourne’s status as Australia’s largest manufacturing hub.
“And this project will generate some $89 million of economic activity for this region. It’s just extraordinary,” he said.
Last year, Pure Dairy appointed dairy and food-processing veteran Andrew Wellington as its chief commercial officer.
