SPC Global Holdings has ramped up its legal action against former directors and associated parties, launching fresh proceedings seeking more than $4.5 million in damages.
The ASX-listed food company said on Tuesday it had filed proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria against former directors Hussein Rifai and Andrew Cohen, as well as Perpetuity Capital Advisory.
The latest action follows proceedings previously announced against former chairman Rifai and Thor Capital, with SPC seeking to consolidate the matters.
SPC said the proceedings concern alleged historical breaches of directors’ duties and other obligations, including issues relating to company expenditure, reimbursements and related-party arrangements. The claims also relate to the historical sale-and-leaseback of the company’s Shepparton site.
The allegations have not been proven and will be determined through the court process.
SPC said the allegations do not involve any current members of its board or management team.
