Popai adds to management team

unnamed-3Popai has appointed Lee McClymont as its new GM.

Lee, formerly of specialist agency, ShopAbility, brings more  than a decade of blue chip shopper marketing and insights leadership to the role.

Sarah Nichols, chairman of Popai, said Lee’s contribution will be key to supporting the continuing evolution of Popai as the Australian home of shopper marketing, and the only industry body advocating for the marketing at retail sector.

“Retail in 2015 is about reaching the shopper wherever they are, and delivering value as they define it. Lee brings in depth understanding of what makes shoppers tick, and what brands, agencies, suppliers, and retailers need to do about it,” Nichols said.

“Our membership will benefit greatly from her passion for sharing global best practice through education, awards, industry intelligence and networking.”

Lee takes over the helm from outgoing GM, Darren Pinks, formerly of Lion, who will depart on April 3.

“We sincerely thank Darren for his commitment to supporting industry growth, and the strong leadership he has shown during his tenure with POPAI,” Nichols said.

“The work of POPAI is growing and evolving, with our thought leadership in the area of shopper marketing and customer experience, as well as our core Point of Purchase offering. In 2015 we will deliver more than ever to our members and to the industry.”

“We sincerely thank our leadership team and the entire board of directors for their ongoing commitment to supporting industry growth.”
