Shopitize’s Janet Bailey has been appointed chairman of the board and GfK Australia’s Norrelle Goldring has been named vice chairman.

Zita Watkin of Active Display Group has been announced as company secretary, while Richard Dumas, Pernod Ricard; Danny Lattouf, Ideaworks; Gary Parsons, EDA Australasia; Simon Skidmore, Onepartners; and Anthony Steel, Frank Steel Displays (former company secretary) have also joined the board.

Popai’s GM, Lee McClymont, said the board appointments mark an exciting period in Popai’s growth.

“Each of the team has dedicated countless hours in service to the industry. They all bring individual perspectives, skills and networks to their roles,” McClymont said.

“I would like to thank our outgoing chairman, Sarah Nichols, for her strong leadership, and four years of dedicated service to the Popai Board. I would also like to thank outgoing director, Debbie Schubert, for her tireless contribution over the past six years, including a chairmanship from 2011 [to] 2013.”

“It’s an exciting time for Popai, and as the peak industry body for retail marketing, I am looking forward to working with our new board to deliver growth, value for our members and progress for the industry,” McClymont said.
