Dilmah launches premium Ceylon Green Tea range

dilmah teaTea brand Dilmah has launched a new Ceylon Green Tea range, which is hand-picked from 6500-7000 ft above sea level in Sri Lanka.

Up until recently, Dilmah green tea had been produced in China, like the majority of green tea sold in Australia. That was until Dilmah founder Merrill J. Fernando decided to create a new green tea production plant in Sri Lanka.

“Tea from this region is of unique character and flavour. At Park Estate, I can also ensure the provenance of the tea and ensure stringent quality testing every step of the way,” said Fernando.

The Dilmah new Ceylon Green Tea range is rich in antioxidants and available in four varieties, costing $3.69 for 20 tea bags, with an all-natural base of pure Ceylon green tea.

Ceylon Green Tea with Moroccan Mint contains only pure green tea, peppermint leaves and spearmint leaves, while Ceylon Green Tea with Jasmine is gently floral with the subtle sweetness of natural jasmine flavour. Ceylon Green Tea with Lemongrass comes with natural lemongrass.

dilmahDilmah has also recently released its limited-edition Seasonal Flush 2016 – Park Estate Emerald Green OPI – the rarest tea in the world.

Dilmah said its tea is an ethically produced global brand of tea, with 10 per cent of Dilmah’s annual profits going to its Merrill J Fernando Charitable Foundation, helping 10,000 Sri Lankans each year.

The green tea plantation sits 6500-7000 ft above sea level, with an artisanal style of tea production used to create garden-fresh tea. Tea is hand-picked, sorted, withered, steamed, rolled, dried and graded on the estate, producing an unblended end-product of uncompromising quality.

Dilmah’s new Ceylon Green Tea range is available in select Woolworths and Coles stores. All four varieties are also available in selected independent supermarkets.
