Aussie parents prefer ALDI Mamia and Huggies

Diaper WipesALDI Mamia and Huggies are the big winners in Canstar Blue’s annual review of disposable nappies and baby wipes.

The results came about after they surveyed more than 1,300 parents.

“Parents want quality baby products they can rely on during all those messy mishaps and these two brands are delivering on the promises,” said the head of Canstar Blue, Megan Doyle.

“Being a parent means getting your hands dirty, but you’ll want nappies and wipes that help make life as easy as possible.”

ALDI Mamia came out on top among five brands in the disposable nappies category, while Huggies leads the baby wipes category, among six other brands. Both products performed strongly in both categories. ALDI Mamia earned five stars on value for money for its baby wipes, while Huggies scored top marks for longevity and look and style in the nappies ratings.

“These are competitive areas for the big brands, as well as the supermarkets and consumers have plenty of options to navigate. These ratings reflect the opinions of parents who have previously purchased, used these products and offer a helpful guide,” said Doyle.

The survey found that two thirds of parents (66%) always buy the same brand of nappies, while slightly fewer (62%) always buy the same brand of baby wipes. Four out of 10 mums and dads (40%) tend to buy whichever baby wipes happen to be cheapest when they go shopping and a similar number (39%) tend to buy whichever nappies are the cheapest.

“Trust is a big factor when it comes to buying baby products and the majority of consumers are happy to stick with what they know,” said Doyle. She said parents rely on nappies and wipes that give them quick and easy solutions to those messy moments.

“When you have your hands full with a baby and potentially other kids too, nothing is worse than a nappy that isn’t up to the job or baby wipes that underwhelm. Our ratings show that Huggies and ALDI Mamia have both earned the trust of Aussie parents,” she said further.
