Camel Milk Co. Australia rebrands

Camel MIlk Co AustraliaCamel Milk Co. Australia was recently relaunched in central Victoria. The camel milk manufacturer has dramatically expanded its operations and changed its original name, Camel Milk Victoria.

The dairy company decided to take advantage of the burgeoning international and Australia-wide demand for camel milk healthcare products.

The latest development followed the relocation of its herd of 200 camels, including 50 who are milked, to a 200 hectare property near Kyabram. Camel Milk Co. Australia started operating five years ago on a neighbouring 40 hectare property.

Apart from producing camel milk as an alternative to traditional milk, the dairy company is now also manufacturing a wide range of products including hand cream, liquid hand soap, lip balm, triple milled soap and freeze dried camel milk powder. They are available in Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Sydney as well as Thailand, Singapore and China.

Managed by Megan Williams and her husband Chris, in 2014 their original farm was the first licensed to process and sell camel milk for human consumption. Eventually they want to develop their new property into a tourist attraction complete with rides, cafe and milking showroom. They are leading this new industry in establishing national standards for production and processing of camel milk, which they say, will be among the most stringent in the world when introduced.

The advantages of camel milk include being much lower in fat and lactose than traditional milk but with higher protein and an outstanding source of calcium and magnesium. Many consumers believe that camel milk products address various allergies and skin complaints.
