Collectables mania has well and truly taken hold of Australian households, with Coles Little Shop app topping the charts in the family app category this week.
The Little Shop app brings the popular mini groceries to life as little dancing characters with their own unique moves, including Happy the Vegemite band leader, Doris the Finish dishwasher grandma and Chuck the Choc Chip Cookie carpenter.
Collectors scan their minis using the app, to bring the characters to life and can then take part in a dance-off through the app with family and friends.
The supermarket giant is seizing the opportunity to get over 80,000 football fans involved in Little Shop 2 tonight, with a dance-off at the Collingwood versus Richmond AFL match at the MCG.
The best dancers will be picked from the crowd by real life Little Shop characters to take part in a dance-off on the MCG pitch, with the winners awarded Little Shop themed prizes such as the limited edition gold Little Shop set including the rare mini gold trolley.
Coles will also have 10 Coles Gift Cards worth $1000 each up for grabs.
“We can’t wait to see the dance moves of footy fans on Friday night, the ten best dancers will win the most sought after limited edition gold Little Shop sets including the rare gold trolley. And if they really bring it on the dance floor they can win a $1000 Coles Gift Card,” Coles chief marketing officer Lisa Ronson said.
Coles is also using the opportunity to secure more app downloads and raise money for Salvation Army and Magpie Nest.
“We are delighted that the fun activities of the night will go towards a great cause, with Coles donating $1 for every download on the night to the Magpie Nest and the Salvation Army to help fight homelessness across Melbourne,” Ronson added.
All app downloads made anywhere in Australia between 5pm and 10pm on Friday July 26 will be included when calculating the total donation amount.
