Evian creates label-free bottle in circular economy move
French Mineral water brand Evian has launched a label-free bottle, its first circular designed container.
Evian’s label-free bottle, excluding the screw cap, is made from recycled plastic called recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET). And, instead of using plastic labels, Evian’s new bottle features an embossed logo.
“It took almost two years for us to develop this innovation,” said Shweta Harit, VP at Evian. “Having overcome industry-wide restrictions in technology and production, this is the first time that Evian has been able to implement a fully circular bottle design.”
The Evian’s label-free bottle is now available in selected locations in France and will be distributed in other regions, including Southeast Asia, UAE and Mexico, from this September.
“The new bottle is a key milestone in Evian’s journey to becoming a ‘fully circular’ brand by 2025 – making all of its bottles from 100-per-cent recycled plastic,” the company said in a statement.
“It’s now more important than ever for us to bring consumers our natural mineral water in the more sustainable way as we owe everything to nature,” Harit said.
