Chips brand Smith’s is celebrating its 90th birthday by bringing back the limited edition ‘Bring Backs’ range. The new crinkle cut chips range include Australian flavours such as Crispy Bacon, Tasty Cheese, Garlic Bread, Sausage Sizzle and Loaded Baked Potato.

Smith’s began in the inner-Sydney suburb of Surry Hills back in 1931 when Frank Smith and George Ensor made chips in 20 gas-fired cooking pots and packed them with a “twist of salt” sachets. 30 years since then it rolled out its first flavoured chip in Chicken flavour.

For 90 years, the company said it has contributed significantly to agriculture, the economy and provided multiple jobs.  Smith’s buys 90 million kilograms of potatoes from local farmers every year.

“There is so much to celebrate this year with Smith’s 90th birthday – our Aussie heritage, our farmers, our customers and of course, our fans. We know how much Smith’s fans love our Limited-Edition flavours, so this special ‘Bring Backs’ range is our tribute to them,” said Smith’s brand manager Kimberly Pettet.

Smith’s also rolled out a major consumer on-pack promotion where consumers can win instant cash and prizes, worth a total prize of $1 million. The 90th birthday campaign is supported with advertising across TV, digital, social, and out of home, in-store events, and PR throughout the year.

The Smith’s Limited Edition ‘Bring Backs’ flavours are sold for $3.49. Crispy Bacon and Tasty Cheese are available at all major groceries. While Garlic Bread is sold at Woolworths only,  Sausage Sizzle at Coles only and Loaded Baked Potato at IGA and independent retailers only.
