Nestle releases plant-based condensed ‘milk’

Nestle has unveiled Plant-Based Condensed Milk Alternative made of rice and oat flour for vegan desserts and treats.

The company says the product is ideal for baking caramel slice, brownies and chocolate chip cookies without using dairy ingredients.

“We know some people struggle to find the right ingredients to replicate even the simplest of dairy-free recipes, so we see home bakers using this new product as an easy solution for their sweet creations,” said Nestle business manager Anna Stewart.

Nestle collaborated with vegan lifestyle advocate and chef Cherie Tu on a range of vegan recipes using the Plant-Based Condensed Milk Alternative, rolling out traditional recipes with a vegan twist, including raspberry cheesecake, key lime pie and ice cream.

The product is available nationally for RRP $3.99 at most major supermarkets.
