Australian consumers can now access cultivated quail at home with the launch of Vow’s Forged brand in Sydney.

The rollout follows regulatory approval from FSANZ in April, marking the company’s first major retail push in the region.

The debut line features three direct-to-consumer products: Hickory-smoked quail spread, Foie-gras style quail lobe, and Frozen croquettes.  Prior to this retail release, the products were trialled on restaurant menus in Australia and New Zealand in June.

Vow produces the quail using animal cells cultivated in fermentation tanks, creating the meat within 79 days in a process that replicates the bird’s natural biology.

The company aims to scale production to 900 kg per harvest by year-end, reaching roughly 10.8 tonnes per month, with future expansion potentially exceeding 20 tonnes monthly.
