Cadbury Australia has released a limited-edition range of Dairy Milk blocks featuring Australian athletes and sports moments on the packs.

The launch is part of the brand’s ‘A Cheer & A Half’ campaign encouraging Australians to support their local sporting clubs with donations and volunteering.

According to a survey by the Australian Sports Foundation, about 42 per cent of local sports clubs are unable to source enough volunteers to sustain operations.

Paul Chatfield, VP of marketing for ANZ Mondelez International, said: “By sharing these stories with Australian families, we hope to inspire generosity amongst the community, show the power of connection through sport and encourage people to get more involved with their local sporting clubs.”

Athletes featured on the packs are Adam Goodes, Ash Barty, Daisy Pearce, Cedric Dubler, Mark Taylor, Sam Bloom, Simon Clarke, Commbank Matildas and The Wallabies.

Customers can scan the QR code printed on the packs of chocolate blocks to access a directory of local, registered clubs where they can volunteer or donate.

The specially designed 180g Dairy Milk block retails for $5.50 and there are smaller blocks available in 50g and 75g sizes.

The company is also launching a $150,000 grant program to assist community sports and volunteers.
