Organic food company Loving Earth has launched two new additions to its breakfast cereal range: Golden Apricot Crunch and Almond Butter Crunch.

The cereals are gluten-free and made from grain-free buckwheat. Despite its name, buckwheat – also known as buckini – comes from the seed of a rhubarb fruit and has no relation to wheat.

Almond Butter Crunch is a golden-coloured cereal with apricots and mango, while the Almond Butter Crunch features crunchy buckwheat and almond clusters, with no added sugar. The latter has only 1.2g of sugar and is enriched with Peruvian Maca for an additional energy boost.

Martha Butler, creative director of Loving Earth, shared that buckinis stay crunchy in milk, even if soaked for some time.

“Life’s too short to eat soggy cereal,” said Butler. “We believe that health and taste go hand in hand, and our new products offer both.”

All Loving Earth’s products are packaged in post-consumer recycled board with vegetable-based inks, making it fully home-compostable. The cereals are available for an RRP of $13.97 in leading whole foods and grocery stores nationwide.
