Liquor distributor Paramount Retail has opened its first fully rebuilt liquor store, the Bottle Stop Newport, marking a significant milestone in its national expansion.
The store is located just outside Newport Station and features what the company describes as a “tech-forward retail experience”, reflecting the brand’s community-first approach.
“Newport marks a pivotal moment for us,” said Leigh Rowe, CEO of Paramount Retail. “This is more than just a renovation – it’s a showcase of what our retail future looks like.”
Paramount Liquor’s dual banner strategy includes its Bottle Stop branches, which are the group’s mainstream, convenience-led offering, focused on delivering daily value in high-traffic and localised locations.
Its Barrel & Batch arm delivers a premium destination experience for collectors and connoisseurs of high-end wines, whiskeys and super-premium spirits.
Bottle Stop stores are located in Monbulk, Kyneton, Little Bay, Patterson Lakes, and Newport, with new sites opening soon in Valentine, Bourke Street (Melbourne), and Boronia.
Barrel & Batch stores are available in NSW, in Alexandria, Marrickville, St Peters, Paddington, and Darlinghurst, and will expand to Victoria with openings planned for Malvern and Hawthorn.
The company is on track to open 100 stores nationally by 2028, across Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, and South Australia.
