Hive & Wellness Australia, parent of honey brand Capilano Honey, has launched a strategic review of its business and hired Rothschild & Co to assist in the process.

The move comes after the company had fielded inbound expressions of interest for its business, the Australian Financial Review reported.

Rothschild’s bankers will be targeting global food companies and financial sponsors, the newspaper added.

Capilano Honey was taken private in 2018 by a consortium that includes Wattle Hill Capital, ROC Partners and Australian Capital Equity. The deal resulted in the establishment of Hive & Wellness Australia.

Following the acquisition, the consortium has worked with CEO Ryan d’Almeida to expand Hive & Wellness internationally to more than 35 countries, including China, Japan and the US.

Hive & Wellness sources over 15,000 tonnes of honey annually and boasts gross sales of approximately $150 million for FY25.

Aside from Capilano, the company’s portfolio also includes Barnes Naturals and Wescobee.
