Capilano Honey targets home cooks with easy-pour Eco Pouches

Capilano Honey targets home cooks with easy-pour Eco Pouches

Australian honey brand Capilano has launched an easy-pour Eco Pouch, a new type of packaging for honey that offers sustainability and is easier to use.

The new pouch contains 700g of Australian-sourced honey and uses 60 per cent less plastic than the brand’s 500g upside-down squeeze pack.

In addition, it features a thin squeezable shell with a spout which makes cooking and baking with honey easier, the brand added.

Ryan d’Almeida, CEO of Capilano, said the new packaging is a first of its kind in the honey category in the country.

“Cooks especially will love it, as it not only minimises any sticky mess, it also prevents honey wastage as you can squeeze out every last drop. And if it’s honey saving, it’s money-saving too,” said d’Almeida.

With its reduced plastic use, the new packaging requires less energy to manufacture and transport, BPA-free, and 100-per-cent recyclable through recycling organisation, Redcycle.

“We are always looking for new ways to innovate, whether in taste, packaging or completely new products, and our loyal customers are key in helping us decide what to create next,”  d’Almeida added.

“We know that many consumers like to buy honey in bulk and then refill their own smaller containers. The Easy Pour pouch eliminates the messy decanting process once and for all.”

Capilano’s new Eco Pouch is available in Woolworths stores nationwide.
