Sydney Brewery has acquired the brewing assets and secured a long-term lease on the White Bay Brewing Co site in Rozelle, expanding its brewing and on-premise footprint.

Effective October 1, the facility will be rebranded Sydney Brewery Rozelle, adding 25 per cent additional brewing capacity to support the company’s growth trajectory.

The added capacity will enable the rollout of low-carb and non-alcoholic beer lines, alongside the launch of a new canned water range, Can Do, featuring plain, sparkling, and flavoured varieties.

Located in a heritage-listed former steel mill with views over Sydney Harbour, the Rozelle facility includes a fully operational brewery, taproom, and commercial kitchen.

“The Sydney Brewery history is based around reflecting Sydney’s distinctive collection of ‘villages’, and we have been looking for suitable venues to expand Sydney Brewery’s bar presence across the city while also gaining access to greater production capacity,” Jerry Schwartz, owner of Sydney Brewery.

The Rozelle acquisition marks Sydney Brewery’s second venue expansion this year, following the rebrand of the former Rocks Brewery in Alexandria to Sydney Brewery Alexandria.

Schwartz confirmed the additional capacity will support innovation and premiumisation, including investment in reverse osmosis technology to produce zero-alcohol beer.

“The extra capacity provided by the Rozelle site will allow us to achieve our goal of expanding our range of beers and ciders, including the launch of low-carb and non-alcoholic beers,” he added.
