Metcash Food & Grocery has announced the immediate recall of its Community Co Diced Beetroot 420g due to a packaging fault resulting in potential presence of rust inside of the can.
The product has been available for sale in independent retailers including IGA, nationally and online.
Affected products have batch codes of: 3700/01131 L24149, 3700/01131 L24155, 3700/01131 L24159, and 3700/01131 L24150.
According to Food Standards Australia and New Zealand, consumption of the product could cause illness/injury.
Consumers have been advised to return packages to the place of purchase for a refund.
