PepsiCo New Zealand launched two new product lines to its snack portfolio, introducing Bluebird-branded crackers and a ‘Mini Canister’ range to local retailers.
The expansion marks a shift for the company as it moves its existing flavour profiles into different food categories and packaging formats.
The rollout consists of two distinct formats: Mini Canisters with an RRP of NZ$4.99 and Bluebird Crackers with an RRP of $3.79.
Mini Canisters featuring smaller versions of Doritos Cheese Supreme, Grain Waves Sour Cream & Chives, and Cheetos Cheese & Bacon packaged in portable containers.
Bluebird Crackers offers oven-baked biscuits using flavours previously associated with the company’s potato chip range, including Cheddar Cheese, Salt & Vinegar, Sour Cream & Chives, and Crispy Chicken.
Both the Mini Canister and Bluebird Cracker ranges will be distributed through major supermarkets nationwide.
“These launches reflect what Kiwi consumers are telling us,” said Lee Kent, GM of NZ Foods at PepsiCo. “They want choice, they want convenience, and they want the brands they trust in formats that are exciting and new.
“We’re looking forward to growing the category with these new products and continuing to bring fresh, relevant innovation that meets consumer needs.”
Last year, Alexia Horley was appointed CEO for ANZ Foods at PepsiCo.
