Kinrise has expanded its confectionery-flavoured popcorn line with a Maltesers-inspired variety.

The new Poppin Popcorn adds malt and chocolate flavouring to ready-to-eat popcorn, and joins the Mars Bar variant, which features new packaging.

A multipack option for its Poppin Popcorn inspired by Mars Bar features single-serve bags designed to meet demand for portion-controlled snacking offerings.

The products build on an ongoing licensing collaboration between Kinrise and Mars Snacking, which previously yielded popcorn varieties inspired by the Poppin Popcorn choc range, including: Poppin Popcorn Mars Bar, Snickers Bar and M&M’s Minis.

The item is available in retail stores nationwide in a 110-gram sharebag size with an RRP of $5.50.

“The Poppin and Mars Snacking brand collaborations have been hugely successful, bringing new consumers into the popcorn and salty snacks categories through exciting innovation,” said Paul Paxton-White, Kinrise’s CMO.

“Poppin Popcorn inspired by Maltesers reimagines the iconic malt and chocolate flavour consumers know and love in a popcorn format, bringing together two movie-night favourites in a completely new way.

The Poppin Popcorn Mars multipack taps into the growing demand for portion-controlled snacking that is also ideal for lunchboxes,” said Paxton-White.

Last year, Mars Wrigley introduced a new Grab’n Go pack format for three of its popular chocolate brands – M&M’s Milk, M&M’s Peanut, and Maltesers – offering a lower entry price point for consumers.
