Australian food brand Destination Italy has expanded its Italian-made frozen pizza line by launching two variations across ANZ.

The new flavours, Woodfired Puttanesca and Woodfired Salame, are produced in Italy before being exported to the Australian market.

Woodfired Puttanesca Pizza features a tomato and mozzarella base topped with black olives, capers, and oregano, while Woodfired Salame Pizza combines a tomato and mozzarella base with sliced Italian salami.

The company says the lineup, made near the Dolomites, uses traditional techniques and is cooked over lava stone from Mount Etna.

The new additions join the brand’s existing core lineup, which includes Woodfired Margherita and Woodfired Mushroom & Truffle variants.

According to the brand, the Salame variant represents the first time an Italian-made frozen pizza featuring local salami has received regulatory clearance for distribution in Australian supermarkets.

The expansion comes as the brand reported a 34 per cent sales increase at Coles stores, compared to 2 per cent growth across the wider domestic frozen pizza category.

The Woodfired Puttanesca is available nationwide at Coles, while the Woodfired Salame is stocked across Coles and independent retail stores.

Both variants are packaged for ready-to-bake home preparation and carry a recommended retail price of $12.50.
