McCain launches roast potatoes range

unnamed-6McCain Foods has launched McCain Roasts, in two flavours, Traditional and Rosemary and Garlic.

McCain Roasts are made from Australian-grown whole potatoes cut in half or smaller whole potatoes. McCain Roasts are peeled, seasoned, and cooked in 100 per cent canola oil. The product is cholesterol-free with no artificial colours, flavours, or preservatives.

“In Australia, roast potatoes are the thid most popular way of enjoying potatoes, with 40 per cent consumers preparing roast potatoes ‘once a week or more’,” Mike O’Brien, marketing director, McCain Foods Australia and New Zealand, said.

“McCain Roasts are deliciously seasoned potatoes, fluffy on the inside and crispy and golden on the outside, with great homemade taste,” O’Brien said.

“Roast potatoes are not just for Sunday dinners anymore. Our new potato product takes the hassle out of preparing them and is quick to cook in only 30 minutes, any night of the week.”

New McCain Roasts are now available in the freezer aisle of selected Coles, Woolworths, and IGA retail stores nationally. Traditional Roasts and Rosemary and Garlic Roasts both come in a large 800 gm pack size for the whole family and retail for $4.49.

The launch of McCain Roasts will be supported by a national media, including TVCs to be on air from the end of April, and instore activity. Whybin TBWA has created the TVC.
