Nestle creates product exclusively for Foodbank

Nestle has partnered with Foodbank to launch a product customised for the hunger-relief charity, helping to make 1.2 million meals for people in need.

Called Maggi Hearty One Pot Casserole, the recipe base is designed for six servings, featuring a tomato and mushroom flavour profile. Maggi Hearty One Pot Casserole will be rolled out in the new Maggi recyclable packaging across Australia and New Zealand this month.

“We understand that food relief depends on what is available, and people can get a mix of items and not necessarily know how to turn them into a nutritious meal,” said Kristina Czepl, GM of Foods at Nestle.

The recipe base is expected to help people who receive food relief from Foodbank create a healthy meal from the food they receive.

“Maggi Hearty One Pot Casserole recipe base will be the ultimate value-add,” said Brianna Casey, CEO at Foodbank Australia.

According to Foodbank, the product is a collaboration between 12 partners as part of the company’s Maggi Collaborative Supply Program. Nestle developed and produced the recipe base in Cambria Park, New Zealand.

“The development of Maggi Hearty One Pot Casserole recipe base would not have been possible without the support and generous donations of our partners in the supply chain,” Czepl added.
