Mandatory Spirit Co launches single-serve cocktails in cartons

Mandatory Spirit Co has launched a range of alcoholic, premixed cocktails in single-serve cardboard Tetra Pak cartons.

The company, formerly known as Basic Babe, is giving a new twist to RTD drinks by introducing the Tetra Pak packaging dubbed ‘boxtail’. Each carton offers 60 calories per serve and comes in three flavours including strawberry daiquiri, passionfruit martini and orange and pineapple mai tai.

Mandatory Spirit Co co-founder Mark Collins welcomed what he describes as a frenzy that the boxtails initially prompted on social media. “Boxtails started flying off the shelves when we launched, social media was going wild, people couldn’t stop talking about them.”

The brand sold 10,000 units in five days and ran out of its three month supply stock in 30 days.

In addition to the single-serve products, the orange and pineapple Mai Thai, raspberry and lemon Fruit Tingle and a lime and mint Mojito will also be produced in 100-per-cent recyclable 2L cask-style boxes.

The single-serve boxtails are available for purchase from Amazon, BWS, and Dan Murphy’s stores.
