Chupa Chups, Mentos parent signs up Down Under licensing partner

Design and lifestyle brand extension agency Asembl has announced it will be representing confectionery manufacturer and distributor Perfetti Van Melle’s licensing interests across Australia and New Zealand.

The agency will help create strategic licensing opportunities in food and non-food categories for the company’s brands – Chupa Chups and Mentos.

In its first venture, Chupa Chups has teamed up with Bulla Dairy Foods to create a Strawberry & Cream flavoured ice cream cone based on the brand’s popular lollipops. The creamy strawberry and vanilla ice-cream cones contain crushed candy and strawberry sauce.

Asembl MD, Justin Watson described the licensing partnership as an ‘ice-cream dream’ come true for Australian fans of Chupa Chups and Bulla’s ice cream products.

The Chupa Chups Strawberry & Cream cone retails for $8.50 in a four-pack. It will be available across independent grocers and Woolworths stores nationwide from May 2.

Asembl is part of the Melbourne-headquartered Merchantwise Group.
