Hahn Brewery – a Lion subsidiary – has launched its lowest-carb beer yet, with less than 1g carbs per bottle and only 87 calories per serving.
The Hahn Ultra Low Carb beer joins the portfolio from the brewery, including Light, Low Carb, Mid Strength and Gluten Free.
The company says the new beer is its most unique recipe, crafted with simple natural ingredients that are brewed longer to remove as many carbs as possible.
Graeme Gibson, head of R&D at Hahn, said the new brew is made for those looking for the rewarding taste of beer without blowing out on carbs and calories.
“With no compromise on the malty beer taste, the beer profile result is a perfect balance of flavour and easy drinking crispness, with ultra-low carbs and a low bitterness,” said Gibson.
In 2017, the global low-carb beer market was valued at US$166.7 billion and was expected to grow at a CAGR of 7.3 per cent by 2025.
Chris Allan, head of marketing – core beer at Lion Australia, said Hahn has “hit the nail on the head” with the low-carb brew.
“There’s so much room to play in the low-carb category, and we’re excited to continue innovating in this space,” said Allan.
Hahn Ultra Low Carb is available in 330ml bottles in liquor stores nationwide at an RRP of $55 per case and $19 per pack.
